2. 100% On-Device Document Processing

🔒 Zero Cloud Uploads: All document actions—including viewing, merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, page reordering, and image-to-PDF conversion—are computed 100% locally on your smartphone or tablet.

We do not operate backend servers that store, inspect, process, or transmit your document content. Your PDF documents, selected images, extracted pages, and output files remain entirely within your device's isolated storage sandbox or designated local system folders.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or store any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
Your account credentials or passwords (no login is required).
The contents, text, photos, or metadata of your PDF files and images.
Your reading habits, opened document titles, or file paths outside the app.

4. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

PDF Toolbox provides convenience features that save data strictly on your local device using Android Room Database and DataStore preferences:

Recent Documents & Activity History: Local shortcut references and timestamps for files you recently processed or opened.
Favorites: Bookmarked document shortcuts for quick access.
App Preferences: Display theme (System Default, Light, Dark) and screen awake toggle.

You can clear your local document history and records at any time by navigating to Settings → Clear Recent History.

5. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

To keep PDF Toolbox free to download and use, we display banner and interstitial ads provided by Google AdMob, an advertising service of Google LLC.

AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personally identifiable diagnostic and telemetry information from your device, including:

Device Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (AAID / GAID) or similar device identifier.
Usage and Interaction Data: Ad views, clicks, and interactions with ad formats.
Technical Information: Device model, operating system version, carrier, network connection type (Wi-Fi / Cellular), and language settings.
Approximate Location: Coarse IP-based geolocation used to deliver relevant regional advertising.

💡 Opting Out of Personalized Ads: You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time via your device's Android settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset or Delete Advertising ID.

6. Device Permissions

PDF Toolbox requests only the minimal permissions necessary for proper operation:

INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required exclusively by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to request and display banner and interstitial advertisements.
Storage Access Framework (SAF) & Photo Picker: Used when you interactively choose documents or images to view, merge, split, compress, or convert. We do not require broad storage access permissions.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect or solicit any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in the European Union). Because our document operations run entirely on-device and require no account registration, no personal information of children is collected.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Depending on your geographic location (including the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California), you have rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access & Portability: All documents and history are already on your device and under your direct physical control.
Right to Deletion: You can delete all locally persisted records at any time through the in-app Settings or by clearing application storage in Android Settings.
Advertising Opt-Out: You may opt out of interest-based ad tracking through Android System Settings.

9. Security Measures

Because PDF Toolbox is offline-first, your files are never exposed to remote security breaches or transit interception. Document files are processed utilizing standard Android cryptographic and sandboxing boundaries.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and will be immediately accessible within the application.
